Thomas Twitmyer is an artist creating multi media works of art layering color, texture, drawings, photographs, paintings, and digitally derived 3D art to produce a vibrant visual piece of work. The focus is on mixing media, layering color, shapes, and texture to create depth and complex imagery that moves the viewer.

I am an artist who loves nature and the outdoors. My journey as an artist began as a self-taught painter. I loved how tangible the process was; the results were immediate and gratifying. Painting allowed me to express myself in so many colorful and abstract ways.

My journey as a digital artist began in the early 90s. The open tubes of cerulean blue and cadmium red were exchanged for a computer and mouse. Early attempts at creating art on the computer in the 90s were challenging and, at times, exciting. Early on, I could see the potential of digital art, but I needed a supercomputer to keep up with my creativity. I grew as an artist with each new iteration of the computer. I continued experimenting and producing artwork using progressively faster computers and better photo editing, painting, and 3D rendering programs. 

Today I am a seasoned digital artist with the experience and equipment that can keep up with my creative vision. It's exciting to be an artist today because there are no limits to the creative process in producing stunning visual works of art. My love of the mountains and outdoors has shaped the kind of artist I am. Art is all around us. Part of my process is to focus on something we see every day and, through the use of color, contrasting light, and patterns, bring the object to a new abstract version of itself. Color is everything, and it brings joy when it is done right. Through my work as an artist, I want to create visual pleasure and continue to perfect my process, and the journey for me will never end.
